Velvet Lips

Velvet Lips is an advanced permanent lip colouring technique that gives the lips a velvet-soft, semi-matte and even colour. With a two-pass colouring approach, the colour is fixed in a balanced, full and long-lasting way. Compared to classic lip blush, it offers denser, smoother coverage.

Who Is It For?

It is ideal for anyone with pale, colourless lips, an undefined lip contour or slightly asymmetric lips, who wants to look groomed and full without daily lipstick. For clients who want a more defined colour, it is a step above lip blush.

How Is It Done?

After analysing the lip structure and undertone, a bespoke colour blend is prepared. The contour is first defined, then the colour is applied evenly in two passes; this two-layer approach creates the velvet texture and the durability of the colour. The treatment takes about 2 hours.

Healing Process and Timeline

• **Days 1–3:** The colour looks dark and intense; there may be light swelling.
• **Days 3–6:** A period of dryness and fine scabbing; do not touch except to moisturise.
• **Weeks 1–2:** The colour lightens and then begins to settle into its true tone.
• **Weeks 4–6:** The result becomes clear and is perfected with a touch-up.

Longevity and Aftercare

Thanks to its two-pass technique, Velvet Lips generally lasts 2–3 years; an annual refresh is recommended. As with all lip treatments, preventive measures are important for those with a history of cold sores. Moisturising and sun protection preserve the vibrancy of the colour.
